Oregon issues a concealed handgun licence through your home county sheriff. The sheriff is the permit agent, applicants must be at least twenty-one and complete an approved firearms safety course, and the licence is issued to qualified applicants. Oregon does not allow permitless concealed carry. Some cities and counties restrict loaded open carry, and public buildings, schools and airports have their own rules, so read the local ordinance as well as state law.

The general any-legal-weapon black-tailed deer season in western Oregon runs from early October into the first week of November on a general western Oregon tag, with the tag sale deadline the day before it opens.
