Colt's Anaconda is a six-shot double-action revolver on a large frame, chambered for .44 Remington Magnum and able to fire .44 Special as well. This version has a 4.25-inch barrel, an overall length of 11.25 inches and a weight of 42 ounces, in semi-bright stainless steel. The leaf-spring action is the oversized Python-type design Colt reworked for the 2021 relaunch, with a trigger pull that does not stack, and the frame is reinforced for magnum pressures. Black Hogue overmolded synthetic grips come fitted and are interchangeable with Colt Python grips.

Sights are a red ramp front with a rear adjustable for windage and elevation, so the gun can be zeroed for a specific load. That suits a handgun hunter running heavy .44 Magnum, a shooter who wants a magnum for the woods, or a Colt collector; with .44 Special the same revolver becomes a mild range gun, and the overmolded grips take the edge off the heavier loads.
