A pre-64 Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle in .30 W.C.F., serial number 1508158, made in 1949. The barrel is a 20-inch round with a ramped front sight and a semi-buckhorn rear, and a vintage Norman Ford The Texan scope rides on a period-correct Stith side mount. Metal is blued, the furniture is walnut, and the original checkered steel butt plate is still in place. Finish wear is moderate with most of the bluing intact, the wood shows light wear, and the bore is excellent. Offered on consignment.

The Model 94 in .30 W.C.F. is the classic eastern deer rifle, and the 20-inch barrel handles quickly in thick cover. For hunters in states that allow any centerfire rifle during the November firearms season, a pre-64 94 with an excellent bore is a working gun as much as a collectible, and the side-mounted period scope adds glass without altering the receiver. Winchester collectors will note the 1949 date and the original butt plate.
